When Dad was still alive, we never had problems about purchasing new appliances because he knew the best stuff to get. Now that he is not around anymore, buying a new TV set or a washing machine seems to get us into all sorts of trouble. You see, we are all girls now. except for my nephew, Sean, who is barely ten years old. No one is keen about this stuff that Dad used to be so good at. It is funny how my sister and I would go over some television reviews first before we purchase something. Every time my mom would see us, she would end up pressuring us to get a husband who’s like Dad. That way, she said, someone can take care of most stuff we don’t know of. I wish it was that easy to find such a man these days…

People become defensive and start throwing out ad-hominem attacks when they sense that someone is more intelligent than them. My point is that narratives can still often be philosophical. I’m vehemently against democracy, but people generally shout in outrage and attempt to kill me if I say I’m a socialist. Democracy also means that if your opinion is not the popular one, it doesn’t matter. That’s my point. Hume wrote narratives and no one considers those less than philosophical. If Hume, Kant and Socrates were alive today, I know exactly where they would be; not in college chat on chat-avenue talking about their works. But I bet deep down they would be thinking of that toaster experience. I’m saying we can’t determine whether or not someone is a philosopher based on the format through which they expressed their ideas. I’m not very familiar with continental philosophy outside of the “canon”. Socratic, how does it feel to be the intellectual inferiors of people like War, Fear and Endia? I guess I should clarify. Not everything that a philosopher writes is going to be philosophy. Russel wrote a number of popular pieces that I don’t consider to be philosophy. How do you feel about Oil and Gas in Iraq? I am a juvenile, my probation officer tells me so. It all stems back to my inability to spell on chat rooms. Who has a diary these days? Perhaps you meant to say a blog. You have come here to raise the standard of the chat room up to your level. I like it on the lowest possible level. I have lost. I will accept my fate and leave the room. I misspell words because I type too fast. I suppose everyone reaches a stage where they become jaded, and this is my stage.
